Watch out: Norse god will eat you out of house and home!

Hello world!

Months ago, I found out Thor was making the rounds visiting authors' houses around the world.

The lovely Debra Kristi welcomed me into the fold and added my name to the hat. I was to host Thor, the god of war, at my house.

For more of Thor's adventures, find him at Debra Kristi’s blog here: http://debrakristi.wordpress.com/

What excitement to know that one day the hunky god with the big hammer would be knocking at my door. And that day finally came.

Here he is...

And this is him, eating. I had a suspicion just how much but little did I know we'd have to defend our plates from sudden attack. For yes, folks, the amazing Thor decided to show up just in time for...Christmas lunch!

So this is how it went...

Thor marched up to the table and immediately claimed his place. I secretly pitied anyone who dared question his wishes. Thankfully, no one did.

Soon after, Thor noticed the wine glass, which, to his displeasure, was empty. I had to remedy that...FAST!!

Phew! That was close. But after siphoning food off his plate like a gas thief on a mission, he turned his attention to mine. He got real close, ready to pounce. Nothing and no one would stand in his way.

But from the darkness arose a new hero. A brave soul who'd stand up to such tomfoolery. Munchkin Cole grabbed the offender by the scruff of the neck and introduced him to our other friends. The Riders of Berk had arrived! And they proceeded to lay down the law.

"This is Owens territory," they announced. "You wanna stay here? You follow the rules."

"This is how we do it in these parts." They explained the basics of good manners like indulgent parents to a three-year-old.

"Ooookay," Thor said, watching with suspicion the dragons feed - noisily - on Cole's special concoction.

"So," I finally interrupted. "That was awkward. Ready for a second serving, Mr. Thor?"

"Sure." He smiled and I melted. "No dragon meat, I reckon?"

"No," I said coyly as I offered more turkey. "Just the bird."

And that concludes Thor's visit at our house. Hubby was there, intently watching the scene unfold, so I have no X-rated shots to show you, sorry. To my eternal regret, Thor was a perfect gentleman and kept his shirt on throughout the meal.

Soon, he'll be making the long trek back to his long-term home in the US, at Ms. Kristi's abode. We'll be sad to watch him leave, but one thing is sure: we'll never forget the Christmas of 2013 when our guest of honor was a Norse god with a big...uh...appetite.

As I wrap up, I want to wish a Happy New Year to my wonderful readers. Please stay safe, happy and don't drink and drive!

A war is coming...

Immortal Adrasteia 'Adri' Dionysios has looked Death in the face...and realised her own father wants her perdition. Two-thousand-nine-hundred years after her birth, Greek god Dionysos is finally here to exact his revenge on his unlikely offspring. But Adri has more pressing matters to attend to. Her daughter appears to be the unwilling key at the heart of a plot to open the Shadow Bridge portal and let Evil return to Earth, and the creature she has given her heart to isn't playing a spotless game, either.

Seraphine 'Sera' Dionysios awakens to the reality that she must take her destiny into her own hands. If only she could come out alive and unscathed from the prophecy she finds herself embroiled in, and if her mother would finally cut the umbilical cord... Not to mention that her maker has decided the time has come to claim her, and he is staking his territory by winning her body and her soul little by little.

Unknown forces are at work to breach the portal and release a bloodthirsty kind that will enslave humanity and all other supernatural races. Besides, twin witches who can bring on the Apocalypse risk making their appearance, too. The world will come crashing down—unless Adri and Sera can stop the deviant plot before it's too late.
