Six Sentence Sunday - Something to Live for #1

Hello world,

Oooh I'm so glad to be back to my Six Sentence Sunday posts. After a long hiatus to write and prepare for the release of two books - as well as a big house move on the personal front - I'm finally ready to get the ball rolling again! I feel a bit rusty, so please go easy on me! I'm a bit nervous about how my new releases are received.

That said, I can't wait to check out all the fantastic posts of my fellow SSSers here - I've missed them all so much!

The excerpt I'm posting today is from my new release, Something to Live for- the first installment in the Moonlight Dating Series. It's from the hero's - Alex Moncado's - POV. Alex's life has been tainted by a horrible tragedy that made its mark on him and forced him inside a mental and emotional prison. For fifteen years, he has lived under the shadow of regret. Poor Alex!

The Nautica wristwatch marked seven ten in the evening when Alex Moncado put the padlock on the outer gate to his art supplies shop. As it clicked in place, the twisted shackles around his heart responded in kind.

He swallowed, and thought how much he hated this time of year. Hated it with a viciousness that would scare off a champion gladiator readied for the fight.

Grief steam-rolled over him. At other times, it was easier to set aside the rogue waves of sorrow that gripped him now.

I hope you enjoyed it! Please take some time to visit my author friends' sites and read their excerpts! Some of my SSS friends and excerpts I love to read: Jessica E. Subject, Cate Masters, Sandra Bunino and Elise Marion. I know you'll love these folks! Especially, my bestie's post - Zee Monodee - from her upcoming release is sure to whet your appetite for more. :D

Have a happy Sunday :) x

Welcome back, loved the six and I want to curl up on the beautiful pink couch in your blog header.

Graylin, that couch is there for a reason...so we can all get together for martinis, dainty appetizers and talk of sexy hunks :D.
